Food is one of the most visual, shareable categories in Dubai, and creators play a big part in where people choose to eat. A good creator visit can fill tables for weeks. A badly planned one produces nothing you can use. Here is how to get it right.
Choose the right type of creator
- Food and lifestyle influencers with a mainly UAE audience drive reservations and walk-ins.
- Content creators and photographers produce high-quality photos and video for your own channels, menus and delivery apps. See photographers in Dubai.
- Micro creators in your neighbourhood can be very effective for local cafés: their followers live nearby.
Check that the audience is in Dubai or the UAE, not just that the content looks good. Our vetting checklist takes about ten minutes per creator.
Hosted visit or paid package?
| Hosted visit | Paid package | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Food and drink only | Fee plus hosting |
| Content guaranteed? | No | Yes, as agreed |
| Control over timing | Low | Agreed go-live date |
| Usage rights | Usually none | Can be included |
| Best for | Smaller creators, soft launches | Openings, new menus, campaigns |
Many restaurants combine them: a paid package with a few key creators for an opening, plus hosted visits for a wider group.
What to ask for
- One reel or TikTok showing the venue, signature dishes and atmosphere
- Stories on the day with a location tag and a booking link
- Mentions of practical details: location, price range, opening hours, how to book
- Raw photos and clips you can use on your own channels (agree the rights)
Make the visit work
- Timing. Book a time with good light and some atmosphere, but not your busiest service.
- The menu. Choose the 3–5 most photogenic dishes and drinks; brief the kitchen.
- The host. Have one person meet the creator, explain the story of the venue and help with angles.
- Facts. Give them correct names, prices and booking details so the content is accurate.
Track the results
- A unique code or offer per creator
- A tracked booking link in stories
- Staff asking guests how they heard about you
- Reservations and covers compared with the same days the week before
When to run it
Openings, new menus, seasonal moments (Ramadan iftar and suhoor, the winter season, Dubai Food Festival) and quiet weekdays you want to fill are all good triggers. For Ramadan, book early; see our Ramadan planning guide.
